A crochet triangle shawl is one of those things you just can't help making again and again, isn't it?
I love crocheting shawls too, and since I've already designed several patterns, I had a hard time deciding what to name this one.
"Lattice" means a crisscross grid. Seen from a distance, the squishy, textured fabric looks a bit like a grid of vertical and horizontal lines. That's why I named it the Lattice Shawl.
This shawl is worked from the bottom point of the triangle upward, so you can stop when it's small or keep going to make it as large as you like.
Once the body is done, go straight on to the border! It's easy to see where to place your stitches, so I think you'll find it quite satisfying to work. I've also included a few tips in the pattern so the border goes smoothly even if you change the size.
Every row has a nice rhythm, and once you get the hang of it, you can work without looking at the chart. It's great for crocheting in spare moments or on the go.
The sample was crocheted with light fingering to fingering weight linen yarn. The fabric is dense and textured, so it has plenty of volume even with fine yarn. Having a little extra yarn on hand gives you more flexibility with the size.
While writing the pattern, I got excited imagining how it would look in winter yarn...
I hope you'll enjoy it in any season.
