I tried making crochet beach sandals with a light and comfortable summer yarn.

Although they are intended for indoor use, they turned out to be the type you might want to wear outside.

During the summer, don't you find it too hot to wear slippers indoors?

In such situations, I imagine that these beach sandals would provide good ventilation and a cool feeling.

The pattern includes three sizes, S, M, and L, for the sandal sole as a reference.

Additionally, the pattern provides three different patterns for the thong, so you can choose a combination and crochet accordingly.

Perhaps due to my love for shoes, I find it immensely enjoyable to crochet various foot-related items in different colors.

In this case, I ended up making them in three different colors. However, I'm still curious to see how they would look in other colors.

You can sew wooden beads on the straps to give them an ethnic touch or attach longer bamboo beads to make them sparkle.

The prospect of designing the straps is also quite exciting.
It's probably the fact that only these thin straps can be adorned that sparks the imagination even more.

With such thoughts, it seems like I'll end up with several spare beach sandals.

Since they are lightweight and easy to carry, you can take them with you on trips and use them as your personal hotel slippers.

It seems like a crochet lover's plan to prepare for a summer vacation.

Crochet Sandals Matching Pouch

As for the technique used in this pattern, there doesn't seem to be anything noteworthy other than the use of the center single crochet stitch.

I have also prepared a video tutorial for the center single crochet stitch, so please feel free to refer to it.

It's strange how once I start crocheting with the center single crochet stitch, I can't seem to stop.
Be careful, as you might end up crocheting a few extra rows without realizing it.

That's the kind of sensation you'll experience, and it gives the impression that the project can be completed relatively quickly.

While working on this pattern, I learned that the part where the thong goes between the big toe and the index toe is called the "maetsubo" in Japanese.

In addition to the size variations provided in the recipe, you can also customize the length of the matsubo and the size of the sandal sole to fit the wearer's foot size (the blue sandals below are a larger size than my foot size).
Please refer to the instructions provided in the pattern for guidance on how to adjust the size.

I'm very curious to know which color everyone will choose this summer.

The crochet pattern for the "Mini Clutch Pouch," which features the same stitch pattern as the black sandals, is also available on a separate page.

When I was thinking about buying sandals for home, I found this pattern and decided to get some paper yarn instead!
I added a few more rows and made the thong part thicker than in the pattern.
I’ll be using them at home this summer.
