Japanese Crochet Pattern: Various Christmas Ornaments (Chart Included)

I crocheted some Christmas ornaments.

This pattern set includes charts for four ornaments: Santa Claus, Holly, Candle, and Gingerbread Man.

They make lovely seasonal decorations around the house, and hanging them on your Christmas tree will make it feel even more special.
They are also just the right size to tuck in with a Christmas gift.

The ornaments are made with fingering weight yarn and fit in the palm of your hand.

If the colors match, you can probably make them with leftover yarn.
Santa Claus and the Candle are stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

Santa Claus started from my wish to crochet the little sugar Santa you often see on top of a Christmas cake. He ended up a bit slimmer than that, so I gave him a fluffy beard to make him look more like Santa.

It would be fun to make several Gingerbread Men with different stitching on the face and body.

I had wanted to crochet a gingerbread cookie ornament for a while, and after a few trial pieces, it took this shape.
It looks simple, but I put a lot of thought into getting it just right, so I hope you enjoy making it. (It is not particularly difficult to crochet.)

The color I used for the Gingerbread Man, Hamanaka Aprico No. 19, may have been discontinued. If so, I'm sorry!
Please choose a fingering weight yarn in a gingerbread cookie color.

The Holly may look plain at first glance, but it can be used in many ways. I hope the styling photos give you some ideas.
Matching the colors and attaching it to a wreath would look lovely.

The Candle comes from my image of a classic ornament for an elegant Christmas tree.
It's a candle that never gets hot, so no need to worry.
For the red flame, a slightly muted shade looks nice.
