Japanese Crochet Pattern: Cozy Winter Shoulder Bag (Chart Included)

A crochet bag in cozy winter yarn, with a shoulder strap you can make in the length you like.
Make it to suit how you'll use it, carried on your shoulder and tucked under your arm, or worn crossbody.

Thanks to the gusset and full, rounded silhouette, it pairs nicely with a wide shoulder strap.

And here's a little secret: the whole bag is made in the same stitch pattern, so it looks good from every angle.
There are no seams on the flap, either.

With this stitch pattern, the start of each round is barely visible, which makes it even easier to use.



The sample was made with 100% wool worsted weight yarn.

It might also be cute to make a pochette-sized version with slightly finer yarn.

I've included a few small tricks to prevent stretching and add reinforcement while keeping the soft feel of the wool, so please check the pattern for details.
