A crochet pot trivet with a textured fabric made from front and back post stitches.

It looks great in a single color, and with two colors it was fun to watch the contrast gradually appear as I worked.
It's also a nice way to use up leftover yarn.

The sample was crocheted with fingering weight wool yarn and measures about 17.5 cm square.
In the photos, the small saucepan on the trivet is about 14 cm in diameter, and the large two-handled pot is about 20 cm.

You can also adjust the size, so feel free to make it whatever size suits your yarn and how you plan to use it.
Instructions for adjusting the size are included in the pattern.

The blue pieces in the photo were made before the online shop was renewed. The yarn and materials are different, but I've included them as a color reference.
You could also crochet it in a slightly finer yarn and use it as a cover for a basket.

For this re-release, I've revised the chart to make it a little easier to follow.

Since this piece is worked in rows with post stitches, the pattern also includes some extra notes on the technique.

If the post stitch symbols have always looked a bit intimidating and you've never tried them, this could be a good project to practice with.

The Ronique website page "Crochet Chart Symbols" also links to video tutorials on how to work post stitches, so please take a look if it helps.

It's a small, satisfying project that you can actually use, and I hope you enjoy making it.

I made a coaster using the leftover yarn from the pot mat.
Since the edging on the pot mat used a thicker yarn, I changed it to 2 chain stitches.
For the coaster, I tried using only single crochet for the edging.
I love the puffy thickness—it's so cute and I'm really happy with it♪
