A crochet mini bag that can be made with just one 100g (250m) ball of yarn.
I was inspired to make this bag when I came across this adorable yarn. It’s just the right size for carrying your smartphone and wallet.
The flap closes naturally, so I haven’t used any fasteners, but you might want to add a button or any closure if it suits your preference.
Made of wool yarn and being lightweight, it seems like it could work well as a bag-in-bag.

This piece uses "Gilliatt" yarn by de rerum natura, which is 100% wool.
I chose a gorgeous heathered pink that captures the charm of blended shades.
It’s a French yarn with an attractive color palette, and its plump, round texture makes it easy and enjoyable to work with. It’s so delightful that I can’t help but want to make more in different colors!
I used almost the entire ball, with just a little yarn left over.
If you tend to crochet loosely and are worried about running out, you could adjust by making the handles slightly shorter.
If slight variations in size don’t bother you, substituting with a sturdy yarn or using summer yarns for a seasonal twist could be fun.
Thinking about how it would turn out if I held summer yarn together with fine wool or a sparkly yarn makes me excited!
Being a small bag, it makes a perfect accent piece, so feel free to pick your favorite color as a statement!

The stitch pattern is simple and easy to crochet, with a straightforward construction. You can work from the bottom up to part of the flap without joining new yarn.
It was so enjoyable to see the bag take shape that it felt like I finished it in no time. Once the flap was done, I couldn’t wait to attach the handles!
Enjoy crocheting it when you feel inspired to make a bag for the fall and winter season!
