Crochet curves, defining the Arc.
A soft arch that follows the contours of your body. The name of this crossbody bag comes from its gently curved form.
For morning walks or days when you want to head out with the essentials, just having your hands free seems to make your step feel lighter. With just your wallet and smartphone inside, you can easily drop into a shop you pass by while walking.
Actually, we didn’t aim for this shape from the very beginning. While attempting to crochet a different bag, the process took an unexpected turn. In that accidental flow, the very shape we had always wanted to create is here.
At first, we thought about attaching a zipper to the curve, but we searched for another method—a structure that would result in a cleaner finish.
This piece features a crocheted flap that is invisible from the outside, secured with a magnetic clasp. The flap acts as a support inside the bag, helping to catch and hold the contents so they don’t easily fall out.

The navy sample was the very first piece made for this design.
The yarn used is "Lang Yarns QUATTRO." Lang Yarns is a long-established Swiss manufacturer with a 150-year history that began in a watermill.
This is a 100% cotton yarn with a beautiful sheen. I was drawn to this elegant, deep navy and had to have it.
With its firm twist and plump, rounded texture, it was a very easy yarn to crochet with. The beautiful range of color variations is also part of its charm. The thickness and texture provide a sense of security, both while crocheting the bag and while using it.
Since the touch is so smooth, you don’t have to worry about pilling or fuzziness. It’s the kind of project you can enjoy crocheting while taking a relaxing tea break.

Once the navy version was finished, I felt like crocheting it in a natural color as well.
I had imagined a slightly thinner, raffia-style yarn. After feeling the texture and finding a similar gauge, I chose SASAWASHI FLAT.
SASAWASHI is a yarn I have used often because I love the high-quality finish it provides.
The gauge wasn’t exactly the same, but the difference in texture brought out a completely different expression. While the overall mood changed significantly, the finished size remained quite similar.
The fascinating way a pattern's impression changes depending on the yarn proved true for this design as well.

For this piece, we have prepared a step-by-step guide with photos for the key points of the crochet process. Different stitch patterns are used for the main body of the bag and the shoulder strap.
As the stitch patterns change, it feels like you are crocheting in two distinct phases. In the phase of crocheting the body, there is the joy of watching the shape transform as you progress. After a simple assembly, the completion feels much closer.
By the time you reach the shoulder strap phase, the shape of the bag is already visible, making it a time to crochet while imagining the scenes where you will use it.
Trying it on as a crossbody or adjusting the length—even before it is finished, it feels as though it is gradually becoming your very own bag. The length of the shoulder strap is customizable. You can crochet a certain amount and then adjust it to fit your body.
Whether on a sun-dappled path or under an umbrella in the rain, you might feel a small sense of pride in having a bag of your own that fits your body so perfectly.
Please enjoy the time you spend with your newly finished bag.
