These hand warmers are made with crochet beadwork.
This design features snowflakes adorned with matte silver beads.
Once you’ve strung the beads, the bead crochet itself is quite simple, allowing you to enjoy watching the pattern emerge as you go.
To keep the gauge as consistent as possible, I worked on both hand warmers simultaneously.
With an opening for the thumb, these hand warmers snugly cover the back of your hands, keeping them warm.
They’re also a lovely accessory that peeks out from your coat sleeves, letting you admire them while wearing them!
For this piece, I chose a white-toned color from Hamanaka Mohair.
The yarn is easy to work with and perfect for combining with beads, making it an ideal choice for this beadwork project.
I used TOHO Takumi LH beads with an outer diameter of approximately 2.6mm for this project. These beads have larger holes, making it easy to thread them onto the yarn. You can also substitute with round beads, approximately 3mm in size, if needed.
Selecting the perfect combination of yarn and bead colors can be quite a challenge, but experimenting with different pairings at the craft store is always a delightful experience.
I hope you’ll enjoy finding your own favorite color combination!

This project is primarily worked by following the chart (as it’s easier to refer to the chart for this design).
To assist with understanding the chart, we’ve included a sample crochet diagram as supplemental material—please use it as a reference.
The bead crochet process is explained with step-by-step photos for clarity.
We also offer a pattern for "Floral Hand Warmers", which uses the same technique, available on a separate page. Be sure to check it out!;
Why not enjoy your winter outings with a mohair-and-bead accessory—an exclusive charm of the season?
